Your “Traffic” is backwards

Hey all,

A quick post about traffic..

When people ask me, “What are some quality traffic sources?”

Here’s my answer..

You’re thinking of “traffic”.. backwards.

The best way to promote an online business is not to just throw traffic at it and hope that someone buys.

Ideally you build your own sales funnels, branding yourself as the ‘go to’ person (or service) in your niche.

You build your contact lists through promoting your own sales funnels, focusing on helping people solve a specific problem that they’re facing in their business.

When the people on your list learn that you are a person to trust, all you have to do is recommend your product to your list based on how it will benefit them.

(Note: Nobody wants to buy your product. What they want is a solution to their problem, and you need to provide that for them.)

  • Tell them where they are now and how it sucks (explain their pain to them).
  • Tell them where they would be if they bought your product (how much better off they’d be).
  • Tell them where they’ll be in the future if they don’t buy your product (what they’re missing out on).
  • Tell them how to buy your product now.

Sounds difficult?

It’s not, but it does take time, effort, patience, and money.

Bottom line:

Don’t buy traffic just because someone is selling it. Learn how to generate your own traffic, build your lists, promote to your lists.

The highest quality traffic will ALWAYS be the traffic you get from your OWN lists.

It’s how to do it correctly, and it’s also what I’m teaching in our Executive webinars every week.

Webinars That Get Results for Marketers

Hey all,

So we had our first “NPN Gold/Executive” webinar on Thursday evening.

It was awesome.

“Off the hook”, even.

We had a great group of individuals participating in incredibly valuable brainstorming sessions and idea-generating conversations.

I laid out the “curriculum” for our webinars and we jumped right at it and started to dig in to the tasks that lay ahead.

What I’m doing is taking them through my 5-step lead funnel process that starts at the very beginning, and goes all the way to where we look back on what we’ve done, how to improve on it, and where we go from there..

This is probably the most valuable teaching I’ve done in a loooong time.

This is NOT just me talking through some powerpoint presentation, telling the attendees what they should be doing (boring and lame)..

It is LIVE, “over the shoulder” training that is designed to show how to DO (and how not to do)  successful online marketing.

Here’s what one attendee posted on Facebook:

It is attendee participation (much of our webinar was discussion and brainstorming), and it is attendee accountability (you have to DO it if you want it).

I could go on, but basically here’s the deal..

The people that come to these webinars and participate, ARE GOING TO MAKE MONEY.

The correct way.

If you want this (and you should), simply upgrade your GlobalNPN account to the “Gold” level and you’ll receive a private invitation to the next webinar.

Do you want to be mediocre? Or do you want to build a business that will provide the lifestyle you really WANT it to provide..

Up to you. Some have already chosen.

Here’s a few minutes of our webinar where we were starting to lay out the plans…

Please “LIKE” and comment below if you’re ready to be one of our “Executive” members..

Or if you have no clue what I’m talking about..

Repurposing Content for Endless Traffic and Leads

So… you have yourself a blog.

And you just wrote a great piece of content that you’re SURE will help your readers get ahead..

So you post your content to your blog, maybe mail your link out to your list.. and you’re done, right?

Wrong.

If that’s all you do with your great content, you are seriously missing out on a lot more traffic and leads for your business.

What you need to learn how to do is to “repurpose” your content.

What that means is to take the content you created, and “repurpose” it to be distributed through other means.

Sure, a blog post is a blog post. But why leave it at that? Why not turn it into as many other types of content that you can? If you leave it as it is.. consider it a waste of your time and talent.

Here’s what I mean…

Take your blog post and ….

[icon_list style=”check”]

  • Turn it into an article and submit it to the main article directories
  • Turn it into a podcast by just reciting what you just wrote
  • Turn it into a youtube or vimeo video
  • Turn it into a youtube video with simple power point slides
  • Turn it into a slide share
  • Turn it into an autoresponder message
  • Turn it into an email broadcast to your list
  • Turn it into a presentation and make a training video on it
  • Turn it into a webinar training
  • Turn it into a ‘free report’ that you give away to help build your list
  • Turn it into an ebook to sell (or part of an ebook)
  • Turn it into a press release
  • Break it up into parts and create more related content..

[/icon_list]

.. and don’t forget to link everything back to your blog or your capture page and SHARE SHARE SHARE

So there’s a few ideas to get you started.

Just keep creating value for your readers and share your value through as many distribution channels as you can with the time you have available. There’s no need to create a new piece of content for each, just repurpose the content you’ve already created.

The traffic is there, just go and GET IT!

Does LeadSkimmer Convert?

Hi guys,

Just thought I’d let you in on a very interesting statistic..

I had a question this morning from one of our members asking if LeadSkimmer members ever upgrade to GlobalNPN through their backoffice. So I did a little bit of research on what the latest conversion ratios were.

I have everything programmed in Leadskimmer and GobalNPN to ensure that we can tell where our signups are coming from.

What I looked for was the percentage of Leadskimmer members that joined GlobalNPN through their LeadSkimmer backoffice, and then upgraded to GlobalNPN (at the Director level).

What I found was that we have a conversion ratio of a whopping 16%!

What that means is that 16% of everyone that joined NPN through their sponsor’s LeadSkimmer backoffice upgraded to Director in NPN! Nice!

So, what we have here, folks, is a very efficient sales funnel.

LeadSkimmer itself has 3 ways to earn money:

  1. LeadSkimmer Premium Upgrade commissions
  2. Sales from Entry Ads
  3. Your own followup to your Leadskimmer leads.

..And throw GlobalNPN into the mix and you have…

  • your upfront one-time commissions PLUS..
  • your back end recurring income stream… all built in.

Remember that your leadskimmer leads get added to YOUR contact list, so if you have anything else to market to them, that’s more money for you.

In a nutshell, this works. Nothing I have ever done has converted traffic into leads better than the Leadskimmer capture page. Nothing.

BUT you have to DO it.

Here are some of my own stats that I’ve tested through:

  • LeadSkimmer free leads to LeadSkimmer Premium or GlobalNPN Upgrade: 13%
  • GlobalNPN free join (from Leadskimmer backoffice), to GlobalNPN Director upgrade: 21%

For those of you that don’t know much about conversion rates. Those are good 😉

If your own conversion rates aren’t as good, it’s simply the result of the quality of the traffic you’re throwing at it.

Here are a couple points to remember when promoting LeadSkimmer:

  1. If your traffic isn’t converting into leads, you need to find a different (better) traffic source. If this is the case, DON’T keep pounding it with the same non-converting traffic, move on..
  2. If your leads aren’t upgrading (or doing anything), the problem could be with your followup, but if this is the case it’s usually your lead source (see item #1). “Garbage in, garbage out.”

So get out there and start promoting your LeadSkimmer affiliate link. Just do it. It works.

The 30 Day Blogging Challenge – Are you up for it?

Hello all..

I would say “Happy Friday” to you but if you run your own business like I do… weekends are never really “weekends”. Not that I’m complaining 🙂

Okay, I have a challenge for you..

As most of us know, an essential part of our online presence is our blogs. Right? And in order to be productive in your blogging, you need to follow the “C.C.C.” rule:

Constantly Create Content”

Hey, that’s not bad considering I just made that up now. lol

Seriously though, the content you create on your blog is not only important for your blog traffic, it’s also a very important part of your list building as well. Yes, yes it is.

You always need to be providing value to your list, and you blog content is an incredibly easy way to deliver it. As many of you know, most emails I send out will point you to my blog to get the complete message. Very rarely do I deliver a complete email message in an email (go figure) – I always give them the “gist” of it, then say “go here to get the rest..” and off they go to my blog. You can say so much more on a blog than you can in an email, and you can deliver it better, brand yourself, get feedback, and really put your personality into your message.

Right, so here’s your challenge

In my opinion, you should be delivering content to your list – via your blog – 3-5 times per week.. MINIMUM. And if you want to put numbers to it, focus about 30% of it on marketing a product, the rest is just valuable content.

My challenge is for you to create 5 blog posts per week for the next 30 days.

Blog posts that are relevent to whatever you’re currently marketing of course. 5 posts per week for a month is 20 blog posts in total. Sounds like a lot but really all we’re talking about is 1 hour per day for 5 out of 7 days.

Note: If you’re feeling particularly creative you could do all 5 in one day, then all you have to do is post them on the approprate days. It’s up to you.

Honestly that’s not a lot of time, but blogs last forever so what you’re doing is creating content that you can use over and over again to provide value to your list.

What do you think? Can you do it? Will you do it? … or will you let it go, once again searching for an “easier way”?

As always, it’s up to you of course..

Oh and by the way, I’m challenging myself to do this as well. It’s not easy when you have other businesses to run but I’m up for it.

Let me know if you do this and I’d be happy to come over and comment or give suggestions..

So.. Happy Friday! Hit me up on Facebook if you like:
