Are you trying? I hope not!

I received a message from a new GlobalNPN member this morning.

They told me that they have been “trying” to make money online for about a year now without being very successful, and that they “hope” that this one will work for them and they’ll give it a “try” for a while to see how it goes…. blah blah blah..

One thing came to my mind: He won’t succeed.. at anything.

Why?

Because he has already failed, before he’s even started.

Yeah, it’s a mindset thing.

He has put himself in a constant state of “trying“. And if you’re always “trying“, you will always be “trying“. In other words, “trying” means you haven’t succeeded yet, and if you’re constantly “trying“, you will always be at the point of “trying” but not succeeding.

Do you hear what I’m saying?

He also said that he “hopes” this one works for him. Well, same thing. If you’re always “hoping“, you’ll always be “hoping” and never succeeding.

Really I see this every day…

“I hope he joins my downline..”

“I’ll try to make that work..”

“I hope I can make this stick..”

“I hope this ad works, and if it doesn’t I’ll keep trying..”

If you think that way, that’s how you’ll be. That’s where you’ll be.

Make the shift!

Stop putting yourself in a constant state of “trying and hoping“. It doesn’t work.

Succeed. Put your mind in the state of having already achieved the success you want. Put yourself there. If you’re already there in your mind, reality will follow.

I know that sounds kinda hokey, but it works. At least it does for me. If I put myself (mentally) in the place that I want to be, things will start to fall into place until I get there.

That was part of my presentation at the No Excuses 3 Event in Las Vegas, you can get the video of my presentation here.

It’s up to you of course, but a negative mind will always put you in a negative space.

.. and that’s a real drag. 🙂

So make it happen.

– Geoff.

  1. Right on spot Geoff! You’re SOOO Right! I just love what you say about this fact. Being concious about yourself puts you in the state of selfcontrol, and what you say in this post simply follows. Great post!

    All the best

  2. Awesome post as usual Geoff.

I agree with everything you said 100%

Trying or hoping to be successful is the wrong motivator.

I think that’s were most go wrong. They motivate themselves on the wrong ideas.

When you make decisions based on an external motivator, it’s much easier to second-guess yourself. Motivation that comes from within is much more grounded and more powerful.

Instead of trying or hoping just become confident in what your doing and just do it.

    Don’t try don’t hope.

taking repeated, meaningful action is what people need to do.

Without confidence, you’ll be more inclined to retreat, beat yourself up, and reinforce a negative self image.

what I’m suggesting is that you place your focus on becoming a confident person, rather than a trying or hoping to become a successful one successful one.

Thanks for the awesome post Geoff

  3. I can tell that this is why those 98% of marketers fail (or whatever the number is). They treat it like an online game or hobby that they do in their spare time. "Hey that looks like a good opportunity, I'll try it and see if it works… oh well, this isn't really working, maybe I got my hopes up, I'll have to keep looking and try something else. I already spent money on this, but I should quit now before I waste anymore. Oh, here's one that's much better, I know this will work…"

    • Hope dosn’t pay the bills, and since we’re quoting scripture..

      James 1:23-25

“For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”

In other words, you are rewarded by your action, not your in-action.

  4. Hey Geoff,

OHHHH how important the Power of NOW is. I love how you put this, to STOP trying! People need to stop trying and start doing and visualize and speak as if they are already in possession of what they want. The subconscious mind doesn’t know any different and Success will come to those that DO. Great post as always! 🙂

  5. You are so right here Geoff. Take this little test about the goal of “trying” to do anything.

Put a cup in front of you and “try” and reach it. Really “try” and reach it as your goal. If you really do this you will soon realize that you either reach it or you don’t reach it – but to “try” and reach it is no goal.

Simple truths are the most powerful ones and this is a very powerful truth. Thanks for bringing it up.

  6. Absolutely right Geoff.

Like I always say… “You are only one decision away from success.”

If a person would just get to the point where they will decide to succeed “no matter what”, they will find that the “how” will come to them.

There are only two things a budding entrepreneur needs…

    1. A Burning Desire for Success
    2. Be Teachable – Willing To Learn and Grow

Mind set is a very important piece of the success puzzle.
I agree, see yourself as already there and you will be.

  8. indeed Geoff – I’m not really a Star Wars fan but my son forced me into it and the thing I remember most is this:
“Do, or do not. There is no ‘try’.”

  9. That is why the program I am in now is so great. It is a group all working to build one downline and all that’s needed is for each member to do what they are good or comfortable doing.

  10. you said that you received contact from a Global NPN member that they had been trying this for a year and had not made a penny. I have been "trying" this internet thing for "three"years and I have never made a penny. So that means I must be a bigger failure? "interesting" YOURS D P.

  11. Hello Geoff –

I think the lessons expressed here are 100% correct. I would say the number one issue standing in the way of any success in life is mindset and online I see this play out every day.

If a person sets out to achieve success without the proper mindset they are doomed before they even begin. You must create the proper mindset with an expectation that you will succeed.

I believe you must believe that you will make correct decisions, that you marketing will convert, that the opportunities you promote will be successful. Rather than ‘try’ or ‘struggle,’ you must believe that the resources, people, and opportunities will appear as needed… you must believe this and then dedicate yourself to making progress every day expecting the success you are seeking.

    Excellent post and thoughts shared!

  13. Dear Admin,

I want to ask you one thing that became my main issue for developing global business npn, some friends and acquaintances have wanted to participate in this business but they are difficult to get your account verified payza because most of them do not have a credit card, whether to use liberty reserve for the upgrade process and receiving a commission? When using liberty reserve or other payment processor prospective downline I will have no more trouble to develop this business
