No Excuses Summit Day 1

Hey guys, a quick blog post from Vegas to give you some idea as to what’s going on..

Well, here I am at the Palms in Las Vegas. It’s actually Day 2 of the “No Excuses Summit 2” but I didn’t get in last night until around… well let’s just say it was late.

Day 1.. Right off the bat, what I learned almost right away is that you realize very quickly there are some great speakers.. and there are really bad ones. There was a few times yesterday when checking my facebook page on my phone was more exciting than what was going on onstage. Oh well. On the other hand there were also speakers that were really interesting and had some valuable things to say and discuss.

Among the speakers on the first day, including Ray Higdon, Mike Klingler, Mark Hoverson, and a few others, I foung that Mike Klingler’s talk was the one where I could actually take away some good training information. I also could relate to his style, which was right to the point, no b.s., just “here’s what you need to do”. Sort of like how I do my own training. I already knew how to do everything he was talking about, but I think I took away with me lots of training ideas and techniques. It’s cool to see how other people do it.

At the end of the day, each speaker has a ‘breakout room’ which you can go to and go deeper into what they were teaching on stage. I went to Mike Klingler’s room because what he was teaching was most relevant to where I’m going with my online marketing. There was some decent discussion in the room.. but it makes it a little difficult to really get the information you need from these guys when there is such a range of people with different experience and skillsets all in the same place.ย  It’s a bit like being a really good baseball player on a team with some peopleย  that have never played the game before, know what I mean? Nothing against them but it’s sometimes frustrating to throw them all in the same room together.

Geoff and Mike Klingler

I did manage to wait around long enough afterwards to pick Mike’s brain about what I’m doing (and planning) with GlobalNPN. He was really cool about talking with me about it and had some ideas for me.

Aside from the semiars and speakers, the cool part about events like these is that you get to meet p

eople that are in the same industry as you are. Particularly when you’re in internet marketing, you rarely get to hang out with people in your business ‘face to face’. I’ve talked to a lot of people at very different places in their businesses, from outright beginners to experienced marketers – everyone is here and it’s a ton of fun. I also spoke with a couple people that were completely “sleeping in my car” flat broke and they did everything in their power (including collecting and selling scrap metal) to get to this event.ย  I kinda felt bad for them because although I admire their resolve and their enthusiasm, I think they may have their priorities all out of whack.ย  Events like these are great, but they’re not going to make you rich. Self-education and hard work will.

Well, I gotta get back to the theatre and see what’s a-happenin’.

I’ll try and post later tonight or tomorrow..

– Geoff.

P.S. As far as Las Vegas goes… I’m $60 ahead of the game so far ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. $60 bucks ahead? Hit that Roulette table with some nickels, always play a Black 29 AND number 21. Works for me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Looking forward to some juicy Business tips. Have FUN Geoff!

  2. I totally agree with you Geoff about hanging out with like-minded people. I too am a Klingler fan. I have heard him speak at Hoverson’s event. I went last year to No Excuses Summit I but noticed lots of noise. I would have gone this year if I would have known you were going earlier. I want to share with you some of my ideas for NPN. It rivals MLSP but more affordable. Try Battista’s Italian food behind the Flamingo.

    • Hi Jeff. Actually after checking out mlsp there’s so much more I like about NPN. Im fact they are missing out on a huge part of the market. No details here but let’s just say I’m glad I built NPN the way I did.

Too bad I didnt’t see you at the event. Let me know and w can talk anytime about your ideas. Hit me up on Skype: geoffstephen.

      Thanks for the comments.

  3. Hi there Geoff,
Sounds as though you are going to bring lots away from your experience that will help ordinary NPN members. That’s great news for everyone. I feel really optimistic about the future with NPN…and my Global Elite System…because you are leading the way and making important improvements to an already great programme.
Sounds as though you should be speaking at this event next year! If you are, I am definitely coming along!

    Speak soon

    • Peter,

Yes I actually got quite a bit from the conference, but what I got was not what I thought I’d get from it. Still good, but you never know how you’re going to relate to the things being presented and discussed.

I’d love to speak at something like that. I have a bit of experience to share I believe.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Absolutely…some of these guys are just affiliates…they don’t own something like NPN….you have achieved something that some of these top guru’s will never achieve…and speaking at these events will also give NPN greater credibility…will definitely come along next year if you are on the agenda….maybe some of us will be too!

Looking forward to the Director Machine!

        • True enough, Peter. Perhaps you should go and tell THEM what you just said. ๐Ÿ˜‰

In this business it’s not who you know, it’s who knows YOU. Maybe we should hold our own event.

          • yes…Geoff…happy to represent you…send me the links or emails and I will contact them to push for our case…and YES….plan for an NPN event for next year…lets make it a date! There are loads of good guys and gals in NPN that could share a few good ideas on how to make money on the internet!

            Can’t wait ….

It’s funny. It was a “no pitch” event, although they had no problem pitching mlsp which is kind of in competition with NPN – although personally I think NPN’s more attractive in a lot of ways to more people (and I was first! heheh).

I thought Mike Klingler was the best, and most honest ‘straight to the point’ kind of guy.
